Prolonging the life of your extension hair
come in for your move-ups at the recommended times to avoid matting and damage to both your natural hair and the extensions (6-8 week for fine-medium hair, 8-10 weeks for medium to thick hair)
use a sunscreen that does not contain avobenzone or octocrylene to avoid discoloration of the extensions
apply oil/serum from mid lengths to ends, and braid your hair before bed
recommended products: hydrating shampoo or conditioner, hair mask, leave-in and or oil
brush your hair regularly through out the day to prevent matting and tangling
always be sure to dry the tops of the wefts to prevent the wefts from swelling or unraveling
avoid getting hair wet when swimming if possible; if you are going to go under water wet the hair before hand, apply a leave-in or mask to the hair, and braid before going under
Washing
using good quality, professional grade products will help keep the extension hair happy and healthy (sulfate and paraben free)
separate rows when washing to thoroughly cleanse between them
use a detoxifying shampoo before your regular shampoo and conditioner for a deep clean
when needing a refresh between washes, separate your natural hair above the top row, then wash and dry that hair for a fresh look
Drying & Styling
use a blow-dry spray before you start drying to speed up dry time and protect the hair
power dry the hair 80-90% before smoothing with a brush
use gentle tension when round brushing to avoid any damage
use a hot tool to finish off the look and create a long lasting style
